Building a Community Through Tutor Profiles at EIVSOM

Updated: Apr 10

A closer look at how EIVSOM’s evolving tutor profiles expand learning, training, and meaningful support across our growing community—while opening the door for those who may feel drawn to be part of it.

At EIVSOM Psychosocial, we’ve just reached an important milestone and the momentum is undeniable: what began as a vision to bridge emotional intelligence and value systems through education, training, and support is quickly becoming a growing, living community. As Dr. Robert Graves shares, “we actually need to step up our tutor training program to have more tutors to work with the students who are coming to us.”

That's why we have different types of tutors at EIVSOM. It is a deliberate decision rooted in two key needs: accessibility and continuous development. We recognize that people arrive at different stages in their journey, both those seeking guidance and those who feel called to provide it. By creating a tiered structure, we can offer guidance at multiple levels while allowing tutors themselves to grow within the EIVSOM system. This diversity not only expands access to our community, but also fosters an environment where education, training, and support are all part of a natural, ongoing process.

The three types of tutors within EIVSOM are:

1. Emerging Tutors

This is where many begin. Emerging tutors are individuals stepping into this kind of work for the first time. They have been trained to use the EIVSOM Learning System and gaining hands-on experience with carefully matched students. It’s a space for growth, guidance, and discovery – for both tutor and student – so everybody benefits from that.

2. Practitioner Tutors

Practitioners have completed our tutor training program and are comfortable applying the EIVSOM Learning System in their sessions. They actively work with students while continuing to develop and refine their practice.

3. Specialist Tutors

These are individuals who tend to have a formal helping profession qualification. They also have one or more areas of specialization, working with the individuals or challenges they are best equipped to support.

Pricing is structured to align with each tutor’s stage of development. "And hopefully that means we can give access to as many people in our community,” notes Dr. Robert Graves. This structure strengthens our mission: connecting help seekers with help givers—something that has always been at the core of our manifesto. We're a private organization, but we're very much community-based...

If this resonates with you, we invite you to connect—whether as a student or a tutor—and become part of a learning system grounded in emotional intelligence and value systems, where awareness turns into action, and action into meaningful change.
