The EIVSOM Coaching Method combines support, education, and training to help people build emotional intelligence reflection, challenge, and capacity development.

At EIVSOM, our approach to human development has always been rooted in a simple but powerful principle: growth happens when insight is transformed into action. The EIVSOM Coaching Method brings together years of applied human development research into a practical framework that helps individuals strengthen their emotional intelligence and value systems. Built around three core pillars—Support, Education, and Training—the method provides a structured pathway for meaningful personal growth.
As Dr. Robert Graves explains: “We always start with the why and the opportunity for a reflection and then we have the What, which is then the challenge and the education of what's out there, the research and the evidence-based stuff that we use as part of the curriculum. And then the How. The how is the training. And that's how we grow the capacity.” This sequence of Why, What, and How forms the foundation of the coaching process. Reflection creates awareness, challenge expands understanding, and training develops the capacity needed to create lasting change in everyday life.
The method also reflects the evolution of the EIVSOM community itself. As Dr. Graves shared: “Everything we were doing is organic, and in the past six months certainly we've really been observing and monitoring what we've been doing. It's with your input that we've reframed a little bit. It's still essentially all the stuff we did before, but re-emphasizing a few aspects of it.” Through Support, Education, and Training, participants develop stronger emotional intelligence and value systems while gaining practical tools they can apply to relationships, leadership, decision-making, and personal development. The EIVSOM Coaching Method is not simply about learning concepts—it is about building the capacity to live them.
